Jack Tracey Joins Mustangs in Record Deal

At a press conference this afternoon, it was announced that Langley Mustangs have pulled off a major coup in signing powerhouse Jack Tracey from local rivals Langley Trojans. Tracey was a stalwart for the Trojans but it is believed he fancied a move to the Mustangs because of the way they play attacking football.

Delighted Mustangs manager Darren Barden exclaimed "We're delighted to welcome Jack on board, we know he is a committed player and will form an integral part of the team".

Tracey is a tough-tackling, midfielder who can play at centre half or centre midfield was signed for an undisclosed fee believed to be a club record, although sources at the club deny that the fee was astronomical. Chief financial officer Wendy Barden said: "Contrary to newspaper reports I can officially report that Jack's fee was considerably less than a pint of Theakstons and packet of Cheese & Onion" . Although it is widely reported that the player's agent Roy Tracey received a large brown envelope behind closed doors.

When asked about his new club, Jack said "I'm delighted to be joining a big club like the Mustangs, they play football in the right way and I've stood on the terraces and supported this club as a boy, quite simply it's a dream come true!" Mustangs supremo Darren Barden is thought to be a major reason Jack made the switch, Tracey said "I'm just pleased the Gaffer has brought me in. The chance to work with him was one of the reasons I signed, the man's a legend and I can't wait to get down to training". So far the lads have made me very welcome, when I came here I knew there were quality players in this team, they have far exceeded my expectations from what I've seen".

Mustangs financed the deal by releasing Connor Beaumont and selling Halcyon Griffiths to a team in the Herts League. Manager Darren Barden said "We would like to wish Halcyon and Connor all the very best in the future football careers, they have been great players for the Mustangs over the past few seasons and will be missed by everyone at the club".
